Mortgages Value Drops By €62.28 Million in April
The value of real estate mortgages in April 2018 dropped by €62.28 million and was recorded at €237.34 million in the whole of Cyprus, Land Registry data published on Wednesday 2 May show.
The number of mortgages was in April 1,317 compared to 1,804 in March when their value was €299.63 million.
Nicosia District saw a significant rise in mortgage value despite a drop in the actual number of mortgages.
The value of mortgages came to €101.93 million compared to €87.66 million in the previous month. The number of mortgages dropped in April of 2018 to 488 compared to 643 in March of this year.
In Larnaca District the value of mortgages came to €35.48 million compared to €34.46 million in March, with the number of mortgages also recording a drop to 245 from 313 in the previous month.
In Limassol District, the value of mortgages dropped in April 2018 to €71.20 million from €112.05 million in March. The number of mortgages dropped to 342 from 509.
In Paphos the value of mortgages dropped in April to €18.16 million from €45.59 million in March. The number of mortgages fell to 166 from 237.
In Famagusta District the value of mortgages fell this April to €10.55 million from €19.84 million in the previous month. The number of mortgages dropped to 76, from 102 in March the Cyprus News Agency reports.
